The Dr. Chai-Shin Yu Memorial Scholarship Committee, in collaboration with the Department of East Asian Studies, Faculty of Arts and Science, at the University of Toronto, is dedicated to advancing Professor Yu's legacy by promoting the growth of Korean Studies. The committee proudly includes three University of Toronto Master of Education (M.Ed.) alumni: Grace Kangmeehae Lee, Jae Chong, and Jiyoung Kang, as well as Ena Kim (Dr. Yu's wife). This shared academic foundation reflects our commitment to fostering education and creating impactful opportunities for future scholars. Together, we aim to build a sustainable future for Korean Studies through this initiative, honoring Professor Yu’s vision and dedication. 유재신 교수 추모 장학금 설립위원회는 토론토대학교 문예학부 동아시아학과와 협력하여, 유재신 교수님의 유산을 계승하고 한국학의 지속적인 발전을 도모하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있습니다. 위원회는 토론토대학교 교육학 석사(M.Ed.) 동문인 강 미해, 정 재열, 강지영, 그리고 유 교수님의 부인이신 김인으로 구성되어 있습니다. 이처럼 위원들이 공유하는 학문적 기반은 교육을 장려하고, 미래의 한국학 연구자들에게 의미 있는 기회를 제공하겠다는 취지에서 설립되었습니다. 저희는 한인 커뮤니티와 함께 이 장학사업을 통해 유재신 교수님의 비전과 헌신을 기리고, 한국학의 지속 가능한 미래를 함께 만들어가고자 합니다.
